The Limp Boner Stiffing America Sean January 21, 2011 Business, Political 1 Comment Why is John Boehner Hell Bent on Repealing HCR? Just why is it? Why is John Boehner and the Republicans so bound and determined to repeal? There are two reasons really… Revenge – Because they have been the party of NO since Obama took office, but because of not having a voting majority, they decided to sit in the corner like little children during the Health Care Debate scheming for revenge. If they could get their majority back in 2010 they could act out their pathetic Revenge by acting like spoiled little children again trying to prove that they are somehow in control more or less saying “Take that Mr. President… Shove Your Obamacare…” and again proving they are the party of NO for the American people. Money – You had better believe this is about Money, but not in the way you think. These pathetic children throw out all their worthless talking points claiming that Health Care Reform is a Jobs Killer… What Jobs? They cannot provide a single shred of proof that providing health care for every American is killing jobs. They are like a bunch of Evangelical dipshits leading their mindless flock off the cliff. What Money then? Huge sums of lobbyist money from the Health Care industry lining the pockets of John Boehner and his little group of followers in the House and Senate. A Number of years ago I consulted to a a number of Health Care Organizations (HMO’s) most specifically Kaiser Permanente and Anthem Blue Cross and I can assure you that they did not and do not want HCR because it reigned them in and forced them to insure EVERYONE no matter their health condition. This of course meant their limitless profits and ability to deny anyone coverage was gone. How About Some More Juicy Details? A September 2010 New York Times story said Boehner was “Tightly Bound to Lobbyists” and “He maintains especially tight ties with a circle of lobbyists and former aides representing some of the nation’s biggest businesses, including Goldman Sachs, Google, Citigroup, R.J. Reynolds, MillerCoors and UPS.” Boehner receives campaign donations from, what is essentially the set-up to a joke about Republican stereotypes: pharmaceutical and cigarette manufacturers, health insurance companies, oil companies and military contractors. Hmmm.. Pharmaceutical and Health Insurance… Seeing a pattern here? In late 2009 when House Democrats were preparing to vote on financial regulatory overhaul when Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio and other Republican leaders summoned more than 100 industry lobbyists and conservative political activists to Capitol Hill for a private strategy session. The bill’s passage in the House already seemed inevitable. But Mr. Boehner and his deputies told the Wall Street lobbyists and trade association leaders that by teaming up, they could still perhaps block its final passage or at least water it down. “We need you to get out there and speak up against this,” Mr. Boehner said that December afternoon, according to three people familiar with his remarks, while also warning against cutting side deals with Democrats. They (the lobbyist close to John Boehner) have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to his campaigns, provided him with rides on their corporate jets, socialized with him at luxury golf resorts and waterfront bashes and are now leading fund-raising efforts for his Boehner for Speaker campaign, which is soliciting checks of up to $37,800 each, the maximum allowed. Some of the lobbyists readily acknowledge routinely seeking his office’s help — calling the congressman and his aides as often as several times a week — to advance their agenda in Washington. And in many cases, Mr. Boehner has helped them out. I want you to take a close look at the screen capture below. This is from Kaiser’s Health News website. First you can see the cartoon of someone (Big Health Insurance) holding the leash of the Attack Dog Boehner/GOP telling the attack dog to “sick ’em boy” on President Obama. If this isn’t telling proof of why the GOP is trying to repeal Health Care Reform, I don’t know what is. Additionally you can see just to the right of the cartoon a news feed and what do you see in that news feed? All stories about the GOP and the effort to repeal Health Care Reform. Mr. Boehner’s Pocket Liners So what are some other reasons Ms. Boehner was so passionate about wanting to vote to Repeal the Health Care Law? Why it’s the old game of Buying Your Politician Off! Isn’t it interesting that several of Mr. Boehner’s largest contributors are from Insurance and the Healthcare industry? So Mr. Boehner, Just how do YOU live with yourself bragging about how the most important thing for you was to deny health insurance from millions of women and children in this country to make certain you got your bonus money in your pocket?
